The class Hard at work Dinner at Lowe's Our Instructor Donna, Craig & Beth

Unit 120 hosted a Teacher Accreditation Program (TAP) in Wilkes-Barre on June 11 - 12, 2005. Nineteen students attended, including 16 from Unit 120, 2 from Naples, FL and Craig Robinson, the District 4 representative from Lansdale, PA. The instructor was Donna Compton from Dallas (Texas that is).

TAP is one of the ACBL’s most successful programs. Established in 1986 by Audrey Grant, it demonstrates successful methods of teaching the game of bridge and uses the ACBL’s popular Bridge Series texts and teacher manuals. These teaching methods can be used with any teaching materials. Anyone successfully completing this course is listed on the ACBL’s teacher web site. The cost of the program was partially underwritten by the Unit 120 and the event coordinator was Beth Rosenthal. The purpose of offering this special program is to create a cadre of certified teachers in our area to teach in schools and encourage interscholastic competition.
